In a continued effort to remain as accessible as possible to all prospective students, Illinois State University has announced it will maintain its test optional admission policy for the next two years.

The decision to remain test optional means students applying for admission to the University for the summer/fall 2022 through spring 2024 semesters will continue to have the option to submit an SAT or ACT score as part of their application.

Applicants who opt not to include an SAT or ACT score are required to submit a high school transcript in order to complete their application for admission. For students whose application requires further review, additional information such as an academic personal statement may be requested.

Students without scores will be eligible to receive merit-based scholarships through the Office of Admissions and will be eligible for the Honors Program.
