Illinois State University and SEIU Local 73 (the union that represents our approximately 400 graduate teaching assistants or GTAs) met under the guidance of a federal mediator on Thursday, April 22, and on the morning of Friday, April 23, Illinois State delivered a revised offer to SEIU. Illinois State has offered fair proposals that show meaningful movement and the package provided to our GTAs is competitive with peer institutions. The University is committed to good-faith negotiations with SEIU Local 73 and still firmly believes that progress can be made. At this time, the University and SEIU are working with the federal mediator to schedule another mediation session. Learn more about the University’s current offers.
