Illinois State University Student Art Gallery, Central Illinois Regional Airport

Exhibition: Exposures
On view through September 5

The photography area of Wonsook Kim School of Art at Illinois State University is excited to present Exposures, featuring work that not only spans the depth and breadth of its student body, but also highlights a range of the photographic medium. Using a variety of techniques and approaches, from documentary storytelling to abstract studies of the body to cameraless photograms, these student artists have chosen to use photography as an avenue for creative expression. 

Exposures features the work of Toni DiPrima (B.F.A. art ’22), Hyojung Lee (B.F.A. graphic design ’21), Matt Frostman (B.A. photography ’21), Katherine Vernon (B.F.A. photography ’21), and Shahrzad Hamzeh (M.A. theatre studies ’20). It is the fifth exhibition featured at the Illinois State University Student Art Gallery in the Central Illinois Regional Airport (CIRA), located across from the main entryway inside the terminal building at 3201 East Empire Street in Bloomington. Gallery hours are consistent with the operating hours of the airport. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Concerts on the Quad

The Concerts on the Quad series returns this summer with five concerts planned for June 28, July 5, July 12, July 19, and July 26. Watch for details on the Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts News site and social media.

Illinois Shakespeare Festival 

Now in its 44th year, the Illinois Shakespeare Festival (ISF) is excited to announce the lineup for its 2021 summer season, which will include the Shakespearean classics The Winter’s Tale and Measure for Measure at the historic outdoor Ewing Theatre. A free family-friendly Theatre for Young Audiences production, A Summer’s Winter Tale by Nancy Steele Brokaw, will be performed on the lawn at Ewing Cultural Center.

The 2021 season is scheduled to run Friday, July 2, through Friday, August 6, with the Theatre for Young Audiences production performed on Thursday and Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. from Thursday, July 1, through Saturday, August 7. ISF is also planning a mix of virtual and in-person summer camp options for youth and adults.
