Illinois State University is celebrating 100 years of Homecoming this fall. The campus community has several opportunities to get involved to celebrate this milestone anniversary.

Campus decorating contest

Campus offices and departments can register for the campus decorating contest to promote Redbird pride and show off Homecoming spirit! Entrants will be judged on their use of the 2021 Homecoming theme, school spirit, Illinois State University’s name and/or images, and the impact of the decorations throughout the week. Judging will be Friday, October 8. Deadline to enter is October 6.

Homecoming parade

Departments or offices wishing to participate in the Homecoming parade Saturday, October 16, can submit registrations online until October 5. Involvement in the parade can be an excellent team-building activity for staff and faculty designing floats together and encourages community involvement. Here’s a short tutorial for those float-builders out there:

Redbirds Care Blood Drive

The Alumni Association will be host an on-campus blood drive during Homecoming Week on Tuesday, October 12, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Brown Ballroom. This is open to all students, faculty/staff, alumni, and community members. The first 30 to donate will receive a Homecoming spirit bag. Register here.
