The Illinois State University Half Century Club honors all alumni whose classes graduated 50 or more years ago. Join the Alumni Association and fellow Redbirds at the 100th Homecoming celebration October 15-16, for our Half Century Club reunion as we induct the Class of 1970 and 1971 as well as enjoy a weekend full of reminiscing, reconnecting, and Redbird pride.

This special reunion is a chance to reconnect with your alma mater and celebrate all the successes Illinois State has experienced. This is a chance to hear how Illinois State University has evolved over time and hear from President Terri Goss Kinzy. It will be a weekend not to miss.

Events on October 15-16 are open to all classes from 1971 and prior.

Friday begins at 1 p.m. with a chance to tour the revitalized Bone Student Center and the historic Quad. This is a great chance to see all that has changed on campus.

Friday evening is highlighted by the Half Century Club dinner at the Alumni Center. Enjoy a reception, sit-down dinner and university updates from President Terri Goss Kinzy. The highlight of the evening will be the induction of the Class of 1970 and 1971 into the Half Century Club and the honoring of the landmark classes (1945, 1946, 1950, 1951, 1955, 1956, 1960, 1961, 1965, and 1966).

Saturday begins with the Half Century Club breakfast at the Bone Student Center with a program featuring Carl Kasten ’69 and Tom Emery presenting their book Abraham Lincoln and the Heritage of Illinois State University. Following breakfast, guests can view the Homecoming parade, visit the Redbird Welcome tailgate tent and watch the Redbirds take on North Dakota State. The weekend will end with an appetizer social in Uptown Normal.
