Hawkins has been a staff member at SCS for 21 years. Throughout her career, Hawkins combined a love of therapy and a commitment to prevention and outreach. She worked extensively in sexual assault prevention in graduate school and in her first position. After serving as outreach coordinator at SCS for several years, she stepped into the role of associate director for programs; a role she held until spring of 2021. During her tenure, she served on numerous University committees

“Allyson has consistently viewed the campus as the ‘client,’ working purposefully to have a high impact in her work and to advocate for systemic support and change,” said Carrie Haubner, interim director of SCS.

Hawkins’ work has been recognized throughout her career, including the 2006-2007 recipient of the Neal R. Gamsky Quality of Student Life Award, the 2003 winner of the Neal R. Gamsky & Douglas H. Lamb Outstanding Research and/or Programming Initiative Award, and the winner of multiple Division of Student Affairs Staff That Are Remarkable (STAR) awards.
