The anarchist principle of autogestión means something quite different in Mexico City than it does elsewhere in the world. Stone gives a history of the term and describes how rock and punk music scenes and a large student strike transformed and popularized this important political principle in Mexico City. The story of autogestión in Mexico City is the story of how leftist politics have transformed over the course of the past 30 years and sheds light on a way out of our current political and cultural polarization.
