The annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 24, via Zoom webinar.

The event is free and open to the public. Those interested can access the Zoom link on the day of the event. The Three Minute Thesis Competition is an academic competition that challenges Illinois State University students to describe their research within three minutes to a general audience. 

This year, seven contestants will compete. They are: 

Bethany Wohrley, Department of Agriculture, College of Applied Science and Technology

Breiann Richey, School of Kinesiology and Recreation, College of Applied Science and Technology

Jake Solka, Department of  Psychology, College of Arts and Sciences

Elizabeth Marsh, Department of  Psychology, College of Arts and Sciences

Jennifer Zheng,  School of Communication, College of Arts and Sciences

Britannia Howe, School of Theatre and Dance, Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts

Alan Atkins, Wonsook Kim School of Art, Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts

Students will compete for prizes, including first place of $750, second place of $500, and People’s Choice for $750. The first-place winner will move on to compete at the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools contest.
