Join us in celebrating the diverse pathways that make up recovery. Recovery is both broadly defined and self-defined; for some, recovery means complete abstinence, while for others it means reducing risks or moderating. Following are a few ways to honor and celebrate the diverse array of journeys:

  1. If you are a student in recovery or are seeking recovery (from substances or other compulsive behaviors), sign up for a recovery celebration package that can either be picked up between April 13-15 or delivered on April 15 (National Collegiate Recovery Day). Only two staff members of the University will gather and respond to these requests; information will not be used in any other way and will be permanently deleted once the request is fulfilled.
  2. Sign up for recovery ally training, and share the opportunity with at least one other person: Thursday, April 14, 9–11 a.m. or Friday, May 13, 9–11 a.m. (trainings are held on Zoom). To sign up, email jllaurs@IllinoisState.edu.
  3. Talk about Recovery for Redbirds and other resources for students in recovery or for students concerned with their substance use habits/other compulsive behavior with at least one other person today.

If you know a student or faculty/staff member who is in recovery, send them a note of support and encouragement.
