As part of regular inspections and maintenance, crews with the Normal Fire Department, ISU Facilities Maintenance, and Environmental Health and Safety will be flushing standpipes and fire pumps on the Illinois State University campus May 16-27 and July 25-Aug 3.
The process of flushing these systems may cause periodic discoloration of the water in some campus buildings. The discoloration is harmless and can be cleared by letting the water run for a short time.
