This month, an upgraded version of the University’s single sign-on service, Central Login, will debut. This will bring a fresh new look of a modern design that is purposefully built to support mobile functionality and accessibility needs. Along with the updated look, there will be several new improvements for University faculty, staff, and students.

One major improvement is greater security in front of services that store sensitive information, such as ReggieNet and Campus Solutions. In explaining the upcoming change, Chief Information Officer Charley Edamala shared, “We do have to keep up with security requirements and that means we had to overhaul the underlying technology. The new infrastructure has advanced built-in security to protect your privacy and is among the best in the country.” Resources that could only be reached with a VPN connection will soon be accessible directly through Central Login.

Edamala continued, “The new upgrades will also enable us to roll out new features in the future, such as the ability to more easily collaborate with other institutions and research repositories.” Further, this upgrade will place Central Login in front of the University’s Microsoft 365 services for a consistent experience for our University users.

The campus community does not need to do anything to prepare for the new Central Login launch. The new design and login experience can be viewed prior to its launch later in May.
