On March 9-12, 2022, Department of Technology faculty members Troy Blunier, Josh Brown, and Josh Katz attended, along with Technology and Engineering Education students Amanda Pediak, Will Maire, Riley Fortune, Gary Derwin, Will Salek, Henry Gleamza, Nick Schaefer, Tyler Polak, and Yoni Leibovitz, The International Technology and Engineering Educators Association Annual Conference: “Standards for Technological and Engineering Literacy: The Role of Technology and Engineering in STEM Education–Keys to Success!” The conference highlighted the importance of the standards, practices, and contexts with connections and learning opportunities within the Standards for Technological and Engineering Literacy (STEL).

Phil Thornton ’00, M.S. ’04 received a Teacher Excellence Award. The Teacher Excellence Award is one of the highest honors given to technology and engineering education classroom teachers and is presented in recognition of outstanding contributions to the profession and their students.

Gary Derwin ’22 was awarded a Maley Outstanding Undergraduate Student Citation. The Donald Maley Spirit of Excellence Outstanding Undergraduate Student Citation recognizes excellence in undergraduate level scholarship and leadership potential.

Nick Schaefer M.S. ’22 was awarded an Outstanding Graduate Student Citation. The Donald Maley Spirit of Excellence recognizes excellence in graduate level scholarship and leadership potential.

Troy Blunier ’01, M.S. ’05, was awarded a Distinguished Service Award.
