Join the Alumni Association for our Alumni & Friends Night at the Illinois Shakespeare Festival. As part of one of the most prestigious and well-known Shakespeare festivals in the country, guests can enjoy a discounted ticket to see William Shakespeare’s King Lear.

Strained relations between a father and his daughters are at the core of Shakespeare’s explosive tragedy, King Lear. In this tale of intimate family drama and political manipulation, an aged leader at the height of his power and influence, loses his grip on position, power, family, and sanity when hubris and ego trump love and loyalty. Lear examines the most basic questions of human existence and is considered one of the most powerful dramas in Western literature.

The evening’s alumni dinner has been canceled. Performance tickets are still available at a discounted rate for alumni and guests.

Performance tickets can be purchased for $34 at the platinum level or $28 at the gold level. Tickets must be purchased by 4:30 p.m. July 1 online or by calling Alumni Engagement at (309) 438-2586. Season ticket holders should contact the Shakespeare ticket office at (309) 438-2535 to reserve seating with the alumni night attendees.
