Entrepreneur Abe Lopez-Bowen ’12 joins Redbird Buzz to discuss his experiences as a student at Illinois State and the development of his human-focused, heart-forward approach to management and business.
During his time on campus, Lopez-Bowen was University Program Board president, a residence hall assistant, ISU Leads participant, preview guide, co-chair for Students Today Leaders Forever, and the 2011 Homecoming king. Lopez-Bowen’s leadership experiences at Illinois State prepared him for a career as an entrepreneur and a creative, running Lightward Photography and Lightward Empowerment, a photography business and an empowerment coaching business, respectively.
Redbird Buzz sat down with Lopez-Bowen to discuss his career path, how former Illinois State president Dr. Larry Dietz advised him during a crucial moment of self-reflection, and how his experience as a student on campus shaped his approach to his personal and professional life.
