The Illinois State University Half Century Club honors all alumni whose classes graduated 50 or more years ago. Join the Alumni Association and fellow Redbirds at Homecoming 2022: Celebrating Red weekend, October 14–15, for our Half Century Club reunion as we induct the Class of 1972 while also enjoying a weekend full of reminiscing, reconnecting, and Redbird pride.

This special reunion is a chance to reconnect with your alma mater and celebrate all the successes Illinois State has experienced. This is a chance to hear how Illinois State University has evolved over time and hear from President Terri Goss Kinzy. It will be a weekend not to miss.

Events on October 14–15 are open to all classes from 1972 and prior.

Friday begins at 1 p.m. with a chance to tour the revitalized Bone Student Center, the historic Quad, or the breathtaking ground of Ewing Manor. This is a great chance to see all that has changed on campus.

Friday evening is highlighted by the Half Century Club dinner at the Alumni Center. Enjoy a reception, special dinner, university updates from President Terri Goss Kinzy, and remarks from keynote speakers and Class of 1972 members, ISU head softball coach Melinda Fischer and Bishop Tyrone P. Cooper of the Church of the Living God P.G.T. The highlight of the evening will be the induction of the Class of 1970 and 1971 into the Half Century Club and the honoring of the landmark classes (1947, 1952, 1957, 1962, and 1967).

Saturday begins with the Half Century Club breakfast at the Bone Student Center with a program featuring Dr. John Freed covering ISNU: Normal School or State University? and Bill Kemp delivering his presentation, Blacks in McLean County: Citizenship, Jim Crow, and the Struggle for Equality.  Following breakfast, guests can view the Homecoming parade, visit the Redbird Welcome tailgate tent and watch the Redbirds take on South Dakota.

Registration is open until October 1. Learn more details for events, prices, and parking at IllinoisState.edu/HalfCentury or call Alumni Engagement at (309) 438-2586. Hotel blocks can be found through the Homecoming website.
