Students seeking part-time employment can identify and apply for jobs at the You Can Work at ISU: Student Hiring Event on Thursday, August 18 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Bone Student Center.

Representatives from university departments will be stationed at tables near Career Services on the second-floor concourse for students to ask questions, apply for positions, and participate in on-the-spot interviews.

Students

Illinois State students attending the event should bring their Redbird identification card and class schedule. Resumes are strongly encouraged but not required. Students are also encouraged to review the list of departments registered to attend the event to identify those they most want to meet.

University departments

The event is free of charge, but university departments are required to register for the Student Hiring Event in advance to participate. They should also bring any supplies needed such as laptop, tablecloth, etc.

“As students return to campus, many are seeking part-time jobs while in college. At the same time, many university departments have open positions to fill,” states Career Services Associate Director for Employer Engagement Natalie R. Alexander. “So, it is fitting that we provide the Student Hiring Event as a convenient way to connect the two.”

Career Services assists all students with developing, evaluating and/or implementing career, education and employment decisions. Hosted by Career Services, You Can Work at ISU: A Student Hiring Event is held in collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs, Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality, and Illinois State Human Resources.
