Explore ways to sustain and grow equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives during a special discussion on Tuesday, September 20.

Dr. Lynford Goddard, an associate dean and the founding director of the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) Institute in the Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois, will present “A College Ecosystem for Diversity and Societal Impact” from noon to 1 p.m. at the Illinois State University Planetarium. Participants are welcome to bring a sack lunch.

IDEA’s mission is to support scholarly research, innovation, collaboration, and leadership in the areas of inclusion, diversity, equity, and access at all levels: faculty, staff, students, and K-12 outreach and public engagement. In this talk, Goddard will discuss the IDEA’s Grassroots Initiatives to Address Needs Together (GIANT) program, which provides funding and mentorships for teams led by students, staff, or faculty through sustained engagement and programming.

Goddard’s lunchtime talk is made possible by the Office of the Provost, the President’s Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Department of Physics.

For questions or accommodations, please contact Christie Wissmiller in the Office of the Provost.
