On September 10, 2022, Illinois State University’s Department of Technology hosted its annual Scholarship and Honors Reception. The department recognized nine Honors students. Fourteen students received outside scholarships totaling $50,500, and 33 students received Department of Technology Scholarships totaling $50,050 for a combined total of $100,550.

The speaker was Gunnar Klitzing, a 2021 engineering technology graduate. Klitzing earned dual bachelor’s degrees in engineering technology and accounting and finance, both in 2021. While a student, he was a manufacturing engineering intern at ITC, Inc. He attended the ATMAE Conference where his poster won first place. After graduation, he was hired by Rivian as a sustaining reliability engineering technician and was promoted to senior engineering technician. Currently, he is a senior engineering technician II.
