The Center for Integrated Professional Development will offer the Introduction to Queer Allyship. These lunch-and-learn sessions will be held throughout the spring semester.

Formerly called Safe Zone, Intro to Queer Allyship is a knowledge-level workshop focusing on using terminology appropriately, understanding the relationship between sex, gender, and sexuality, and finding the resources available to support Queer Redbirds (faculty, staff, and students) at Illinois State University. This experience is tailored to faculty, staff, and graduate assistants, with either teaching responsibilities or other student-facing roles, particularly in Academic Affairs.

Registration is required to attend. All sessions are held in the Multicultural Center, room 135. Spring 2023 dates include:
Tuesday, April 18 • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participants are invited to bring their own lunches to this two-hour workshop. Note: this is the same content as presented in the Safe Zone workshop offered Fall 2021 through Fall 2022.

Those with questions, or who need special accommodation to attend this event can contact Coordinator for Scholarly Teaching and Learning David Giovagnoli at dgiovag@ilstu.edu.
