A Celebration of Life for Illinois State University Board Trustee Emeritus Betty J. Kinser will take place on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 1:30–3:30 p.m., in the Atrium on the second floor of the Bone Student Center.
Kinser received B.S. (1973) and M.S. (1975) degrees in art education at Illinois State, after which she took a position as a lecturer in the Art Department (1977). Over the course of the next four decades, she served the University in every capacity imaginable, as an academic advisor for art and theater majors, as an instructor, as a committee member, as a community leader, and as a trustee on the Board of Trustees, a position she held for two terms (2006–2018). During her long career at Illinois State, she was most proud of her work with and for students, and she touched and transformed countless lives with her devoted support, tireless dedication, and high expectations. She was a Redbird through and through.
President Aondover Tarhule, President Emeritus Larry Dietz, and Betty’s family hope that you will be able to join them on April 13, 2024, to celebrate her remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in honor of their mother and Grammy be made to the Ron and Betty Kinser Scholarship for nursing students. For more information, visit Giving | Illinois State.
