Jasmin Tuazon describes her love for Japanese manga and anime in her younger years to have fueled her interest to take it at Illinois State.  “My professors (or senseis ) here are dedicated role models who create an open environment while challenging each student.  There is a certain thrill of learning a new language that isn’t written with the Roman alphabet!

I studied abroad last spring in Japan where I enjoyed meeting other international students visiting temples, watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in Japanese, interning as an English teacher assistant in a middle school, and finally, just getting lost!”
