Mike Marcucci, double major in Spanish and communication sciences and disorders, started learning Spanish in fifth grade and has loved it ever since. “It allows me to communicate with so many different people. With every semester of classes that I take at Illinois State, I feel that I have a different perspective of and new appreciation for the language. Since my second major is therapy based, having a background in Spanish will be beneficial with future clients who may not speak English. After graduation, I will continue to grad school for my speech pathology degree, where I plan on diving even deeper into a bilingual focus.”
