REPORTED OFFENSE:

On Thursday, May 22, at approximately 1:22 AM, a female student was battered in the 100 block of East Cherry Street, Normal. The student was talking on her cell phone when she was struck from behind by an unknown suspect(s). The student was treated for injuries but was unable to provide any further information about the assault or the suspect(s).

This incident remains under investigation by the Normal Police Department. Anyone with information should contact the Normal Police at (309) 454-9535. -If someone is bothering or harassing you, tell the person in a loud voice to STAY AWAY.

-If a person with a weapon confronts you and wants your property give it up. It is not worth being injured or losing your life over.

-Carry your cell phone with you and be prepared to call 911 with a suspect description.

-If you are a victim or witness, call the police immediately and try to remember as many details as possible.
