Crime Advisory 8/4/19

On 8/3/19, at approximately 3:15 PM, Normal Police investigated a report of a robbery which occurred earlier in the day.  The victim reported he was in his vehicle at the intersection of University St. and Beaufort St. around 10:00 AM when he was approached by 3 suspects asking for a ride.   The victim agreed, but after entering the vehicle the suspects displayed a stun gun and forced the victim to drive to an ATM and make multiple withdrawals.  The suspects then made the victim enter a campus building while they left the area in an unknown direction on foot.

The suspects were described as two B/F’s and one B/M all in their mid 20’s.

-Plan the safest route to your destination; choose well-lighted, busy pathways and streets.

-If someone is bothering or harassing you, tell the person in a loud voice to STAY AWAY.

-Carry your cell phone with you and be prepared to call 911 with a suspect description.

-If you are a victim or witness, call the police immediately and try to remember as many details as possible.

-Call police immediately if you observe suspicious activity.
