The online University Research Symposium opens Friday, April 9, on ISU ReD. The Symposium is a university-wide showcase of research, scholarship, and creative activity.
Dr. Shaoen Wu has been named the State Farm Endowed Chair of Cybersecurity within the School of Information Technology. The prestigious chair was established by State Farm Insurance Companies as part of a $3 million investment committed in 2016.
The annual symposium, virtual this year, will include a combination of live and recorded performances, panel discussions, readings, and presentations, along with three keynote speakers in the evenings.
Founder of the company The Sioux Chef, Sean Sherman will share his journey of reviving and reimagining Indigenous cuisine. Events include a Normal Food Summit and a cook along with Chef Sherman.
Illinois State University’s annual Civic Engagement Celebration will take place on April 13. The virtual event will feature announcement of the Civic Engagement Award recipients and a presentation by the McLean County Museum of History on the history of activism at Illinois State.
