The National Science Foundation awarded Illinois State University more than $1.3 million to inspire urban Chicago high school students with an innovative after-school program.

Illinois State University Provost Aondover Tarhule has announced the appointment of Francis Ebenezer Godwyll as dean of the College of Education, effective June 1.

Associate Provost Ani Yazedjian announced the appointment of Dr. Roopa Rawjee as executive director of the Office of International Engagement (OIE), effective July 1, 2022. 

Honoring Asian art and artistry will highlight Asian Heritage Week, with events running from April 22-25. The Asian Heritage Celebration on April 24 will include an afternoon of demonstrations and workshops.

Associate Professor of History Kathryn Jasper will dedicate the National Endowment for the Humanities funds to finishing a book focusing on reforms in the medieval Catholic Church that ultimately sparked civil war.    

The final event in the Illinois State University Spring 2022 International Seminar Series, ISU International Engagement, will be April 20 with a presentation by Illinois State University Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Dr. Aondover Tarhule.

Individuals and groups across the campus and community were honored with 2022 Civic Engagement Awards on April 12, 2022, as part of Illinois State University’s annual Civic Engagement Celebration. The event was hosted by the Center for Civic Engagement.

Dr. Maura Toro-Morn, professor of sociology and director of Latin American and Latino/a Studies, will deliver the 2022 Spring College Lecture at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 25 in Section I of the Brown Ballroom in the Bone Student Center. Her lecture, “Gendered Migrations in the Age of Global Disruption,” is free and open to the public.

Illinois State University has established a teach out and transfer articulation agreement with Lincoln College.

President Terri Goss Kinzy will host faculty, administrative/professional, and civil service retirees on Monday, April 25, 2022, for the Retirement Recognition Reception.
