Greetings Civil Service Colleagues,
It is my pleasure to serve as your newly elected Civil Service Council Chair. In this capacity, I aim to have the utmost transparency and be committed to understanding the experiences and needs of civil service employees. All civil service staff are welcome to attend the Civil Service Council Meetings which are held on Zoom from noon to 1 pm on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month. In November, two roundtable informational sessions will be held regarding the proposed merging of Civil Service (CS) and Administrative/Professional (A/P) councils into one staff council. Each council serve as key shared governance bodies representing the staff of Illinois State University since 1959 and 1976, respectively. To provide transparency and to give all A/P and CS employees an opportunity to understand and weigh in on the proposed merger, please attend one or both sessions. Release time may be granted based on operational needs of the department.
