Hello Student Affairs Alumni and Friends,

The 2017-2018 academic year is in full swing here at Illinois State! I am excited that campus is once again full of students buzzing with excitement for the year ahead. As I embark on my second year as Vice President for Student Affairs, I continue to be impressed by our students, the accomplishments of our alumni, and the staff within our Division. We hope that you take a moment to read about some of the exciting things happening on campus and the ways in which our alumni and friends stay involved.

From our Club Rugby alumni embarking on a campaign to raise $50,000, to an alum sharing his story of how he was positively impacted by Student Affairs as a student with a visual disability, we appreciate the support of our alumni through their time, talent, and treasure. Alumni support is what helps us offer the best programs and services to our students today, providing them with a unique Redbird experience.

Homecoming 2017, Building a Legacy, is the perfect time to celebrate all our alumni and friends and the legacies you have left within the Division. Don’t miss our tailgate before the big game on October 21, and check out all the opportunities to connect with staff and alumni across the Division during Homecoming!

As always, I look forward to engaging with more of our alumni and friends. We invite you back to visit and share your Redbird story (hyperlink https://alumni.illinoisstate.edu/survey/studentaffairs/index.php) with us anytime!

Go Redbirds!

Over the past year, Illinois State celebrated diversity in myriad ways, from events and exhibits, to the task force dedicated to improving inclusion on campus.

Illinois State welcomed our new Redbirds to campus last week. While faculty and staff work diligently to prepare for the arrival of new students to Illinois State, many do not recognize the role a small group of current students play in our major campus event, Welcome Week.
