Assistant Professor of Geology Lisa Tranel devotes her research to studying the slow rise of mountains, and the impact it has on their surfaces. With the help of an American Chemical Society grant, Tranel will return to the Guadalupe Mountains in Texas to study the connection between mountain uplift and erosion.
