The Career COM-petency program celebrates first year of success

When the longstanding legacy of COM Week came to a close in April 2023, the School of Communication was forced to pivot and reimagine what professional development would look like for the future. Inspired by student feedback, invested alums, and faculty input, the Career COM-petency program was born—and is now ready to celebrate its one-year anniversary.

TV-10 is celebrating its 50th anniversary and launching a campaign to raise $50,000

Illinois State University’s student-run television program, TV-10, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The journey, which began with the first live newscast on March 4, 1974, is now commemorated through a grand reunion on campus scheduled for April 12-13, 2024. Alumni and friends are invited to join the festivities, honoring 50 years of remarkable student achievement and involvement.

Three things are guaranteed to happen when a group of School of Communication alums comes together. First, there will always be conversation—with a healthy dose of laugher, connection, and storytelling. Second, there will be coffee—hot, iced, or otherwise. And third, an idea will strike—and when it does, it will brew and percolate until a team of leaders emerges.
