Rachel Hickey punches ticket to Pan American U20 Championships with Team USA

Redbird student-athlete Rachel Hickey posted an impressive performance at the USATF U20 Outdoor Championships Sunday evening in Miramar, Florida, clocking in at 4:30.93 in the 1,500-meter race to finish in second place. With that time, the Peru, Illinois native has secured her spot on Team USATF and will compete at the Pan American U20 Championships in Costa Rica, July 18-21.

On the final day of the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Northern Iowa, the Redbird men’s and women’s teams left their mark in the Illinois State record books, sweeping the indoor titles for the second-straight season. The back-to-back sweep for ISU is a first in program history.

Bird Bash set for April 25

Every year, passionate Redbird fans gather at the Bird Bash to raise funds for the women’s athletics scholarships at Illinois State. The annual event is open to the public and will be held this year on Thursday, April 25, inside Redbird Arena.
