Open forum: Global Studies grad requirement

Two forums sponsored by the University Curriculum Committee, identical in content, will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, and Wednesday, Nov. 12, in Stevenson Hall, Room 401 to solicit campus feedback on a proposal to revise the current Global Studies Graduation Requirement.

Trites to give distinguished lecture

Professor of English Roberta Seelinger Trites will give Illinois State University’s Distinguished Professor Lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, in the Prairie Room of the Bone Student Center.

Smart grid education gets $450,000 boost

Illinois State University received a $450,000 grant to train K-12 teachers through the University’s Smart Grid for Schools program, which offers schools an opportunity to learn about the smart grid technology being rolled out by investor-owned utilities throughout Illinois.
