The diverse culture of Asia will be celebrated with Asian Heritage Week, April 25-27, 2024, at Illinois State University. 

AsiaConnect, working with the Normal Public Library and Illinois Art Station, will hold festivities throughout the week. All events are free and open to the public.

AsiaConnect is proud to offer two scholarships for $300 each to support ISU undergraduate students studying or researching Asian and Asian American culture, language, experiences, and/or participating in study abroad programs in Asian countries.

AsiaConnect October Program: International Poetry Reading

To help celebrate the love of languages/literature, we will read 10 poems from around the world this year. Readers include Illinois State international faculty and students from Russia, Taiwan, Iran, the Netherlands, and Thailand.

Filipino culture and a love for photography

AsiaConnect welcomes Jason Reblando as a guest speaker to discuss how he brings together his Filipino culture and love for photography. In his presentation, he will discuss his previous projects surrounding his insights on Filipino history and its imagery.
