Illinois State University will be celebrating Homecoming from Sept. 29 to Oct. 5, with a special tree-lighting event in Uptown Normal on Sept. 25. Illinois State University’s Board of Trustees has authorized the purchase of properties at 200/202 Kingsley St. and 609 College Ave. in Normal for faculty, staff and student parking and supplemental parking for campus events.

Smart grid education gets $450,000 boost

Illinois State University received a $450,000 grant to train K-12 teachers through the University’s Smart Grid for Schools program, which offers schools an opportunity to learn about the smart grid technology being rolled out by investor-owned utilities throughout Illinois.
