Three WZND students win BEA scholarships

The Broadcast Education Association (BEA) is an academic media organization, promoting insights, excellence in media production, and career advancement for educators, students, and professionals. Illinois State University’s School of Communication is proud to have three students who won scholarships in this nationwide competition.

WZND Wins BEA Signature Station Award…Again

With immense pride, our very own WZND Fuzed Radio Station took home the gold, and secured the title, “Radio National Signature Station,” for the remainder of 2021. This is not the first time WZND has won this very award. Previously, in 2018, they earned the very same title.

WZND continues award-winning streak

WZND is a learning laboratory for students headed into a broadcasting career. The station began in 1965 as WILN.

On state, national, and international levels, WZND represents Illinois State University as one of the best college radio stations in the country.

All staff members of WGLT invested in the Redbirds Rising campaign, showing their unwavering support for the University and commitment to the students. The radio station is hoping their efforts will inspire other campus units to reach 100 percent participation, as well as inspire all faculty, staff, and retirees to make a gift.
