The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and the Center for Civic Engagement are excited to announce a two-part workshop to support faculty, staff, and community partners in developing effective partnerships to meet institutional goals. Titled “Maximizing Impact Through Intentional Partnerships, Programs, and Assessment,” the workshop has sessions scheduled for February 5 and March 5, 2025.
As we move into our 2024-2029 strategic plan, Excellence by Design, and the accompanying Student Affairs strategic plan, Elevating Engagement, Strengthening Connections, and Maximizing Impact, all faculty and staff are being called upon to create, sustain, and celebrate mutually beneficial partnerships to advance our mission and vision. This two-part workshop is designed to bring together faculty, staff, and community partners to share our collective expertise and connect with potential partners across the University and within the community.
The workshop will be led by:
- Angell Howard, Associate Director for Professional Development and Staff Recognition, Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs
- Dr. Erin Thomas, Assessment and Data Analytics Manager, Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs
- Paige Buschman, Associate Director, Center for Civic Engagement
- Dr. Rachel Waring-Sparks, Assistant Director of Assessment, Center for Civic Engagement
In the first session, to be held on Wednesday, February 5, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, participants will explore how to cultivate effective internal and external partnerships, design innovative programs that meet diverse student and staff needs, and ways to implement practical assessment frameworks to measure and enhance outcomes.
Between the two sessions, the facilitators will identify potential emerging partnerships based on information provided by participants in the first session. In the second session, to be held on Wednesday, March 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., participants will have the opportunity to put their learning into practice by connecting with potential partners and developing ideas for partnerships that advance their goals. Lunch will be provided.
Participants must attend the first session in order to attend the second session. Registration is required. Questions can be directed to Angell Howard at sdhowa1@IllinoisState.edu.
