The Illinois State football team will be a part of the Gateway Football Conference television package twice during the 2006 season.
The two TV games for the Redbirds will be against the two teams picked ahead of them in the preseason poll, Northern Iowa and Youngstown State. The Redbirds’ Family Day game against Youngstown State at Hancock Stadium will be shown on FSN Midwest on tape delay. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m., but the game will be televised at 6:30 p.m.
In addition, ISU’s regular season finale at Northern Iowa will also be televised. The game against the Panthers on Nov. 18, will be seen live locally on WYZZ-TV at 4:35 p.m. on Fox 43 – Bloomington, Ill. It will also be live on KFXA-TV (Fox 28 – Cedar Rapids, Iowa) and KDSM-TV (Fox 17 – Des Moines, Iowa), while being aired tape delay on FSN Midwest at 2 a.m. on Nov. 19.
For the eighth straight season, the Gateway Football Conference is coordinating an in-house television package. The games will be produced for syndication on over-the-air and cable television stations throughout the Midwest. Each of the conference-produced games will air live or taped on FSN Midwest and on Fox College Sports.
