Scott D. Johnson will assume the position of dean of Illinois State University’s College of Business, beginning on July 1. Johnson currently serves as dean of the College of Business at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Johnson earned his MBA from the University of Minnesota and his Ph.D in marketing from Michigan State University. His research and teaching areas include recommendation-based decision making, marketing and business education, electronic retailing and consumer behavior.
“Dr. Johnson has a proven track record as an outstanding educator, researcher and leader,” said Illinois State University Provost Sheri Noren Everts. “Dr. Johnson was selected through a deliberate and comprehensive search process involving many constituency groups. I’d like to thank the search committee for their time, expertise, and caring; and Dr. Charles McGuire who has served the University well as the interim dean of the College of Business.”
“I am delighted that Dr. Johnson has accepted our offer and will join us later this year as the dean of the College of Business,” said Geography-Geology Department Chair Dave Malone, who chaired the search committee. “He rose to the top of a very competitive candidate field and he has the unique combination of experience and ideas to move the College of Business forward.”
