Thomas Metcalf School is proud to announce that Metcalf teacher Donna Zawatski and Illinois State associate professor Kim McCord won the 2010 TeachTech Award for their proposal, “Universal Design for Learning Through Musical Composition.”
TeachTech is an annual award that recognizes outstanding uses of technology to further excellence in education. For the past three years, NALS educators have been awarded prize money ranging from $500 to $5,000 for both creative and inspirational uses of new media and technology in the classroom.
The TeachTech Award identifies projects that demonstrate pedagogical integrity, innovation, and efficacy as well as the potential for others to replicate them in part or in full. Eligible projects can consist of original software, re-purposing or integration of existing software, or publications for the facilitation of creative uses of technology in K-12 classrooms.
Congratulations Mrs. Zawatski and Ms. McCord!
