The Illinois State University Friends of the Arts and Alumni Association will be hosting an evening of improvisational comedy on Sunday, November 7, at the ComedySportz Theatre in Chicago.
Octavarius, a Chicago-based comedy group which is made up predominantly of Illinois State graduates, will be performing. Octavarius was recently featured in the Chicago Reader’s Best of Chicago 2010 issue as one of the best improv/sketch groups in Chicago. They have their own headlining show at ComedySportz and have been seen on WGN’s “Time for Talent” segment.
The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with an hors d’oeuvres reception prior to the 7 p.m. performance. Cost is $15, which includes the reception, nonalcoholic beverages, and admission to the performance. A cash bar will be available. Bus transportation from campus will be available for those from the Bloomington-Normal area for an additional cost of $25.
Registration closes on November 1 and advanced ticket purchasing is required. Tickets may be purchased by calling (309) 438-2586 or online at www.Alumni.ilstu.edu/comedy.
