The University’s School of Social Work is celebrating its 30th anniversary as an accredited social work program. The school advances the mission of the social work profession through education for excellence in generalist (BSW) and specialized (MSW) practice, with a particular commitment to outreach to the poor, the disenfranchised, and the vulnerable. The School of Social Work has proudly generated alumni who have carried this mission throughout the state since 1980.
Alumni are invited to attend an hors d’oeuvres reception to mark this occasion. The first annual Patty Berndt scholarships will be award at the event from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, in room 118 of the Alumni Center at 1101 N. Main Street in Normal. Complimentary wine and nonalcoholic beverages will be available.
Registrations are due October 21 and may be made online, or by calling Alumni Relations at (800) 366-4478 or (309) 438-2586.
