A great weekend of events planned to coincide with NFA tournament.

The ISU Forensics Union will be hosting a reunion for alumni April 15-18. The reunion coincides with Illinois State hosting the National Forensic Association tournament.

Several events are planned throughout the weekend for Debate and Speech/Individual Events alumni, with the official alumni reception on Saturday evening. To see the complete listing of events, visit www.Alumni.ilstu.edu/forensics, or call (309) 438-2585 or (800) 366-4478.

Alumni are invited to volunteer to judge Lincoln-Douglas debate or any of the Individual Events during the national tournament. If interested please contact Megan Koch, director of Individual Events; or Jon Carter, assistant director of Individual Events.

A block of area hotel rooms have been reserved at discounted rates for those attending this reunion event. A list of  official tournament hotels is available. Alumni are encouraged to stay at The Chateau to better facilitate gatherings at one location. The overflow hotel for alumni is the Holiday Inn.

Sorry to say I’m committed to some activities at the American Educational Research Association meeting in New Orleans. I have fond memories of participating in ISU forensics activities in the mid-1960’s. It was a pleasure to work with Stan Reeves our faculty advisor and coach and partner with Bill Hahn and other members of the our ISU teams in 1965 and 1966. Wish I could be able to be in two places at the same time and help out with the national tournement.
