Illinois State fans and alumni looking to enjoy the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico, with the Redbird men’s basketball team now have two options through Suzi Davis Travel to be a part of this trip, as the Redbirds take part in the 2011 Cancun Challenge, presented by Triple Crown, with Rutgers, Illinois and Richmond in late November.
The Cancun Challenge features eight men’s college basketball teams and includes eight games played in the United States, and eight games played at the all-inclusive Moon Palace Golf and Spa resort. Illinois State, Illinois, Richmond and Rutgers headline the host teams’ field and are joined by Hampton, Lipscomb, Sacred Heart and Southern Illinois Edwardsville.
The four host teams will play two games each in their home arenas in the United States, and then play each other for two games on Nov. 22-23, 2011, in the ballroom at the beautiful Moon Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico. This is a five-star all-inclusive oceanfront resort that offers unparalleled service and signature amenities that set the stage for an exceptional all inclusive vacation. Luxurious and spacious accommodations are accentuated with double Jacuzzis in every room, 24-hour room service, included unlimited long distance phone calls back to the U.S. from your room, wireless internet and more.
Space will be limited for each of these packages, so interested parties should book their arrangements quickly. Below are the two remaining options available through Suzi Davis Travel to be a part of this experience:
Option 1 – For $1,399 per person, based on double occupancy, one would receive air travel from Chicago O’Hare Airport. The flight with American Airlines is scheduled for Nov. 20, at 8:20 a.m., with a 12:05 p.m. arrival in Cancun. The return flight would leave at 1:20 p.m., on Nov. 24 and return to Chicago O’Hare at 5:15 p.m. Flight times are subject to change.
In addition, guests would receive admission and preferred seating to all men’s basketball games, transportation to and from the Cancun airport to the resort, admission to the tournament banquet, accommodations at the luxurious Moon Palace Resort, unlimited food and beverages (including alcohol), all taxes, tips and gratuities, access to non-motorized water sports, free use of other Palace Resorts in Cancun area and up to $750 in resort credits good for spa, tours and golf.
The trip does not include trip insurance, excess baggage charges, laundry, etc.
A deposit of $500 per person is due at the time of booking with a final payment due on August 1, 2011. Cancellations must be made before August 1, 2011, and there will be a cancelation fee of $300 per person. Cancellations made on or after August 1, 2011 will receive no refund.
