For the first time since Hancock Stadium was built in 1961, major renovations are planned for the home of Illinois State football. The facility, which also services many campus and community events, will undergo a $20 million upgrade that will boost seating to about 14,000. Completion is targeted for the fall of 2013.
Redbird Athletics is excited about this renovation, which will propel Illinois State football into a new age.

Looks like a good plan. I’ve been to over a hundred football games, pro and college, and having more people between the 20s, and not in the endzone is a good thing. Nothing takes you out of a game like trying to follow it from the end zone. I have zero memories from the games in which I sat there.
