The Java Application Developer position has a concentration in Web development and will participate in the technical analysis, design, development, testing and support of software applications for the University’s enterprise systems.
Required Qualifications
- *Bachelor’s degree OR must complete Bachelor’s degree no later than June 2012
- *3 or more years experience in developing or supporting software applications
- *Experience in maintaining software over extended periods of time
- *Solid OO skills including a good knowledge of design patterns
- *Strong project, analysis, and research skills
- *Excellent interpersonal skills
- *Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- *Clearly communicate complex technical concepts verbally and in writing to management, technical staff, and customers
- * Documented experience or course work in writing client-server based systems in Java.
- *Experience with Apache Maven
This is a security sensitive position. Comprehensive criminal background investigations will be conducted.
Desired Qualifications:
- *Experience designing multi-tier applications
- *Experience with markup languages such as HTML and XML
- *Experience with web-enhancement languages such as Javascript and CSS
- *Experience with using Hudson for Continuous Integration
- *Experience with Eclipse IDE
- *An interest in learning new tools and methods
- *The ability to analyze software for accessibility requirements
- *Familiarity with jQuery, Dojo
- *Experience with the Spring framework
- *Experience with JEE6 and JSF2
- *Understanding of relational database concepts and query methods
