Description:
Position Responsibilities
- Responsible for the configuration, management, troubleshooting and analysis of Verizons OTT (DRM) CDN architecture from a conditional access standpoint.
- Responsible for CAS architecture configurations, maintenance and analysis as needed.
- Ensure stability and quality of DAC Video Service
- Isolate and Troubleshoot DAC Video Service DAC Network (VOD, IPG, DAC, CSG, IVAPP, HNM, SDMP interfaces)
- Proactive management and diagnosis of DAC Video Service degradation
- Interpret, correlate, and isolate alarm/soft conditions
- Interpret video and audio quality, and IPG/EPG data integrity
- Inventory Management
- Assist and/or perform new design and CCR implementations
- Check Health of DAC Network: SEM DAC and DTI
- Check bandwidth dropouts in SEM
- Restore/Maintain Back-up Paths
- Document daily DAC logs/document and distribute reports on health of DAC Network
- Determine if outage is Provider or DAC Network related
- Interface with third party service vendors (i.e., Miranda, Content Providers, Motorola, Seachange, TVN, Microsoft, FYI, CSG, etc.)
Required Skills & Experience
- Must have in depth knowledge of Apache Web Server software, LINUX, UNIX, RedHat, Software upgrades, and security.
- Must have an in-depth knowledge of encryption schema including DES, DRM, Watermarking, Fingerprinting, CCI, Macrovision and CSA.
- Must have in depth knowledge of encoding schemes such as H.264, MPG2 and MP4.
- 2+ years IT infrastructure knowledge, software and servers
- 2+ years of experience with analog/digital video, audio and multi-channel experience
- Experience with DAC Network Management Systems (NMS), Element Management Systems (EMS) and Operational Support Systems (OSS)
- Must have in depth knowledge of IP networking.
- Must have in depth knowledge of network and CAS troubleshooting.
Desired Skills & Experience
- 1 year experience as a hardware engineer in a multi-channel environment
- Exposure to interactive TV/VOD or media industry
- Familiarity with ingest stations, ad-insertion and editing
- Understanding of Verizon FTTP end-to-end access technology, hardware and software, including FTTP process and systems (vRepair, IVAPP, PON NMS)
- Knowledge of Verizon’s DAC Network installation, provisioning, maintenance and Central Office processes and procedures
- Software administration, software implementation, software configuration
- Video over FTTP Orientation, SHE Operations, SHE Products (Engineering) training, DAC Operations, DAC Network controls
- Minimum 3-5 years experience administering multiple, web-based applications
- Minimum 3-5 years experience working with Device Configurators
- Verizon training classes Suggested: Video Over FTTP Orientation, cable/subscription TV operations, and products training, DAC Operations, DAC Network Management

Education and Experience
