Purpose of Position
This eMerge Internship posting is for a Business Analyst to work in collaboration with the Business Application Competency Center (BACC) unit. The intern for this position will work with other analysts and customers to perform analysis on existing and proposed systems. This internship will include:
- Working with a team of Business Analysts and customers
- Eliciting requirements using interviews, document analysis, and requirements workshops
- Documenting proposed changes to existing systems
- Evaluating information from multiple sources to determine customer needs
- Facilitating requirements gathering sessions
- Researching best practices, trends and metrics
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required
- Must be currently enrolled at ISU and majoring in an IT or Business related field
- Must be qualified for internship through appropriate college
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- When business needs require, student intern must be available outside of normal business hours, when given adequate notice
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Must be able to multitask along with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Must have ability to work with minimal supervision
This is a security sensitive position. Comprehensive criminal background investigations will be conducted.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Preferred
- Understanding of IT System Development Life Cycle
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio
- Experience documenting IT Systems
- Ability to facilitate meetings with multiple stakeholders
- Experience using Microsoft SharePoint
