Description:
Purpose of Position
Work with technical architects to ensure data model meets the platform’s requirements for the business and technical perspective. Define fail-over strategies and distributed data strategies. Ensure database objects (views, stored procedures, triggers, constraints, etc.) and SQL statements meet performance and security objectives. Ensure database migration scripts and programs meet data integrity, performance and security objectives. Maintain and publish the database installation/operation guide and other pertinent documentation. Develop, review and enforce database standards.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required
- Seven or more years of experience with data / database architecture out of which 5 Years has to be recent Oracle DBA experience
- Experience with Oracle 11g
- Experience in UNIX (AIX), RMAN and IBM Tivoli, Shell Scripts
- Experience with coding using SQL & stored procedures using PL/SQL
- Expert at SQL Tuning and have experience in writing PL/SQL procedures
- In depth knowledge of working with BI, ODS, EDW and Operational Environments. Experience relevant to real-time warehouse is added advantage.
- Experience working with database capacity planning concepts
- Experience in migrating code between Development to QA to Production environments
- Experience with working in a team
- Diagnostic and problem-solving experience
- Ability to understand and interpret logical and physical models
- Good communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Information Systems
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Preferred
- Experience with enterprise data warehouse architecture and understand ETL Architecture preferably Informatica
- Experience with Database Security and ability to implement industry best practices
- Knowledge of BI, ODS, EDW and Operational Environments
- Experience with backups and disaster recovery
- Certified Oracle DBA
