Illinois State University’s Board of Trustees on Friday approved $1 million in funding for signage, furnishings and other equipment for the new east side grandstand at Hancock Stadium.
The additional funding will cover items not included in the original construction project bids.
At its February 27, 2012, meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the original $25 million Hancock Stadium renovation project. In order to keep the project on schedule, several items were removed from the original scope of the project when low bids for construction initially exceeded the $25 million figure.
The newly approved funds will pay for the purchase and installation of speakers and related equipment for a new public address system, signage, kitchen and concessions equipment and furnishings for club and suite areas.
