The 8th Annual Midwest Association for Information Systems (MWAIS) Conference “Big Data in the Heartland” is being held at Illinois State University located in Normal, Illinois. The conference is a joint effort between Illinois State University’s School of Information Technology and College of Business, in conjunction with the College of Business at Ohio University. The Academic Keynote for the conference will be Joey George, Ph. D – Dept. of Management Information Systems College of Business, Iowa State University. Industry Keynote & Panel will be selected from regional companies, such as State Farm, Caterpillar, Discover Financial, Progressive Impressions International, COUNTRY Financial, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), John Deere, and others.

Illinois State University’s campus is in the twin-city community of Bloomington-Normal near the geographic center of Illinois, 137 miles southwest of Chicago and 164 miles northeast of St. Louis with Interstates 74, 55, and 39; U.S. Route 150; and Illinois Route 9 intersecting Bloomington-Normal. As a transportation hub in Central Illinois, Bloomington-Normal has Amtrak service within two blocks of the University and a regional airport (BMI, http://www.cira.com/) with national access.
